Booking Conditions

By attending a Dublin Java User Group event, you hereby acknowledge and agree to the following conditions. Terms specific to in perso- n event bookings Reservation Confirmation: Prior registration is required to attend our events. Your reservation will be confirmed via email upon successful registration. You agree and acknowledge that we will send periodic email about the event, along with emails after the event to share details about the event (video / photo's / slides) along with information of our next event which may be of interest. Overbooking: For high demand events, we may overbook to account for potential no-shows and to maximise on the day attendance. While our goal is to accommodate as many attendees as possible, priority will always be given to members who have not built themselves a reputation of booking a seat and not showing. There is a small risk that some individuals may be refused entry if the venue reaches full capacity. Access: Priority access will be given to Platinum Members and/or paid tickets, followed by registered free ticket-holders. While we strive to accommodate all registered attendees, admission for free ticket-holders is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration does not guarantee entry if the venue is at full capacity, and it is recommended to arrive well before the scheduled start time to secure your seat. Late Arrival Policy: To avoid any inconvenience of fellow attendees, late-comers may not be granted entry No-Show Impact: If you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible to allow individuals on the waiting list the opportunity to attend. A record of attendees is maintained, and persistent 'no-shows' will of a higher risk of not being admitted particularly for high-demand events. Refusal of Entry: In the rare event where the venue reaches full capacity, we reserve the right to refuse entry to individuals, even if they have registered. Cancellation and Refund: Registrations for free seminars and events are non-transferable. Paid tickets will not be refunded. Event Etiquette Our events are organised for the purpose of education. They are open to all people from all walks of life. Should any attendee be offended by the religion, race, sex, gender of another human being, please email us to cancel your reservation - you're not welcome. If, whilst attending the event, you find yourself in the position of being subjected to any bias, hate, distasteful comments etc, immediately inform the organisers so the appropriate action can be taken. We expect attendees to behave in a polite and respectful way to fellow attendees, the organising team, the venue hosts and the venue itself. Anyone disregarding this will be shown the exit door. Your Attendance Admission to the event is solely at your own risk and you agree to hold harmless the organisers, venue hosts, our partners, speakers and fellow attendees for any loss or injury save whereby permitted by law. The Event content is provided in good faith, and serves only as a starting-point for your own research. You agree to hold harmless the organisers, venue hosts, our partners, speakers and fellow attendees for any omission, error, and / or inaccuracy in the information provided. Recording of events Most events hosted by or on behalf of the Dublin Java User Group are recorded and made available to our members, subscribers and the wider Java community after the event concludes via YouTube and / or other video sharing platform. By attending the event, you acknowledge that the video recording may capture your name, image, and/or profile picture during the event, and we are unable to prevent this. Audience contributions at hybrid or recorded events, such as questions or comments during Q&A sessions, may also be included in the recording. By attending, you consent to the recording and the subsequent sharing of this content. Photography at events Some in-person events are photographed, and group photographs may be taken for posting on social media, websites, and other outlets. If you prefer not to be included in any photographs, please inform the event organisers on your arrival, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request. Please note however that it may not be possible to facilitate all requests and attendees should be mindful that by participating in group settings, there is a chance they may still appear in background or incidental photographs. Booking a ticket on somebody else's behalf If booking a ticket on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have their explicit consent to share their personal details and act as their representative in this transaction. We recommend that these terms are shared with them before attending the event.
